Founder of Ateliê Eryn Santos Hair Design – Rutherford, New Jersey

Eryn Santos’ story begins in the small town of Glória do Goitá, in the countryside of Pernambuco, Brazil, where his childhood unfolded inside his father’s humble barbershop. Surrounded by scissors, combs, and the rhythm of daily transformations, Eryn discovered his natural gift for beauty at a young age.

At just 15 years old, his talent caught the attention of Maria de Fátima Ferreira, the First Lady of his hometown, who recognized his potential and sponsored his enrollment at Senac, where he completed his first professional hairdressing and makeup course. With the support of his parents, Eryn opened his first salon, beginning a journey that would shape his life and artistry.

Eryn’s path led him to Recife, where he refined his skills at the traditional salons Fígaro and Fino Trato, and later to São Paulo, Brazil’s vibrant fashion capital. There, he joined the prestigious Novita Beauty Center, solidifying his reputation as a Senior Stylist and Color Specialist.

Driven by his constant search for excellence, Eryn traveled to Europe in 2008, expanding his artistic and technical repertoire. He worked with Jean Louis David in Lisbon, completed an advanced program at Academia Llongueras in Barcelona, and gained fashion and commercial experience in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon returning to Brazil, he joined the renowned Casa Mauro Freire, where he collaborated with celebrities, fashion magazines, and creative productions.

In November 2014, Eryn founded his own salon in São Paulo: Ateliê Eryn Santos a name that reflects both his artistry and philosophy. The word “Ateliê”, of French origin, means studio or workshop, a place where artists create and express their vision. For Eryn, hair has always been a form of art color, texture, and shape are his brushstrokes. His salon became known not only for beauty transformations but also for hosting art exhibitions and creative collaborations, blending fashion, culture, and community.

Five years later, Eryn followed his dream across continents. He moved to the United States, where he studied English and worked in salons across New Jersey and New York City, gaining valuable experience and understanding the American beauty market.

After years of dedication and perseverance, his dream took shape again: the opening of Ateliê Eryn Santos Hair Design, located in Rutherford, New Jersey a creative space that combines art, beauty, and human connection.

From São Paulo to Rutherford, the name Ateliê Eryn Santos has carried the same artistic essence. “Ateliê” a French word for an artist’s studio represents the space where creation happens, where art and hair merge into expression. By adding Hair Design, Eryn emphasizes the evolution of his craft, uniting his European-inspired artistry with American innovation.
